At a recent panel discussion at IAMAI’s Pixels 2020 held at Hyatt Mumbai, prominent brands from Technology, advertising and media were invited as speakers!
Apart from other dignitaries, Nagesh Banga, Dy. country head, Bigo Live, was also invited as a speaker to share his expertise on ‘How User generated content is changing the dynamics’
While Mr Banga emphasized on the fact that UGC puts customers Front and Center. Customer-oriented businesses are on the rise, because brands have to constantly serve their users. Also, in this fast-paced, digitally-run world, attention-spans can be snapped away with the click of a fingers. If brands aren’t catering solely to their customers, their customers will simply find another brand & make a shift.
Apart form this, other key-takeaways were, it is important to give viewers, binge-watching opportunities to make them loyal set of consumers. Here, digital media brands play a pivotal role, as masses want something different from what they see on television and Digital space is their ‘go to solution’!
With increasing demand for regional content, entertainment brands in digital space enables localisation which can take place on multiple levels in terms of story, background, and setup. Without localisation, it is difficult to resonate with consumers. From a brand’s perspective, it’s imperative that viewership comes from different kinds of audiences, rather than from only one kind, which makes a channel more robust!
